* Tom Marshall sings this "Collective Soul" cover to illustrate how awful it would be if time stopped with it playing over and over on the radio.
** Ended with Trey creating a series of delay loops with his pedals.
# All 4 band members dressed as mad scientists. They were playing with synthesizers while lights flashed and Van de Graff generators zapped. Fish was raised up in a bed as Father Time and reborn as Baby New Year after the countdown); includes a song called "Finlandia."

Phish Companion says: Shine featured Tom Marshall on vocals. The narration in Forbin's discussed how Phish makes time in the Phish Factory, which set up the New Years Eve stunt. The jam out of Drowned included a progression labeled by some as a highly-debated Fire on the Mountain tease. The second set ended with a digital delay loop jam out of Mike's, and the third set opened with the Phish Time Factory machine. All four band members dressed as scientists playing with synths while lights flashed and Van de Graff generators zapped. Fishman was lifted up in a bed as Father Time and was reborn as the Baby New Year. This was the first performance of Sanity since 6/24/94 (147 shows) and the first Johnny B. Goode since 7/3/95 (58 shows).
